30,000 views and beyond!

Wow--brings back memories!

As unbelievable as it seems, I have hit 30,000 views! I guess people really do care about this esoteric little hobby. Though I've only been on board for a little over two years, I've seen blasters evolve in the craziest ways. This hobby also entails more than just modding blasters--you learn how to use tools, you learn about materials and chemicals, and you learn how to debug and get creative. Even with all the pedantic douchebags, there is so much to learn and apply! Building off each other and forging new designs has always been the end goal of the community and it has certainly done that. I'm glad to have made my small contributions!

What's up people?

Though many of you may think I have died, I have actually been alive and kicking! Not only that, but I managed to finally finish the project that I've been stalling on for so long:

The Bullpup v2.1!

The reason it's version 2.1 is that I made some slight modifications to Drev's original design. They include the following:

• Extension spring for better trigger feel
• Extended shoulder stock
• Simpler way to attach handle
• HDPE handle instead of wood
• Adjustable barrel spacer
• Set screws
• Clear everything!

It took me a few tries to get the blaster from working spotty to working reliably, mainly with the prime. I had to extend the trigger tip a bit, throw a stronger catch spring in, and glue the shit out of the piece of tubing that sits in the catch. Anyways, let's get down to a good old-fashioned write-up, eh?

I'm in the process of modding my car right now so I've been slacking on the Nerf stuff for a bit. In order to not completely alienate you guys, I have provided you a nice picture of some of my progress thus far:

I should hopefully have my car upgraded and tuned in the next couple of weeks, so I'm giddy as a schoolgirl! I'll be chipping away at the Bullpup in the meantime, so hang tight.

At last, an update!

Sup guys,

Once again I have gone AWOL after finishing a big project, but by no means have I been idle! I've been hooked on The Last of Us--a must-own PS3 exclusive. I also modded my car recently--a simple speaker and head unit installation that was completed in a couple of sessions, thanks to the Internet! The S2000 community is very supportive, and reminds me a lot of the Nerf community. It's a lot of like-minded people coming together to share their findings and pave the way for the betterment of their hobby. As for what's next, here's a clue:

The Ported Piston Plusbow

What's up, my people?

It took a while, but I've finally finished my first Plusbow! It is designed by the one and only Captain Slug. For those who don't know him, Slug possesses the mind of a genius, a love for Nerf, and a hatred for Dremels. Though he is a gentleman and scholar, I still found several way to improve upon his design. Here are my changes:

• HDPE grip
• Solvent welded front bushing
• Longer screws for everything
• Extension spring instead of ghetto rubber band
• Ported Piston plunger head
• Plunger padding
• Smaller holes at the sideplate connection points

The Ported Piston--a new type of homemade plunger head!

Sup my people,

After finally getting around to thoroughly testing this prototype, I'm very excited to present you all with some dope new technology that you may not have seen before! The idea is not mine, but I'm "porting" it over from our sister sport--Airsoft! Before we dive in, let's quickly go over the advantages and disadvantages of regular old O-ring plunger heads:

Advantages:

• Incredibly cheap
• Take up very little real estate
• Easy to maintain
• Long-term reliability
• Low friction

Disadvantages:

• Sealed breeches don't allow air into the plunger (vacuum loading)
• More machining required
• Tight tolerances to get a working plunger head

The Ported Piston, or PP is a modified O-ring plunger head that eliminates the first disadvantage off the list and adds yet another benefit--an improved seal while firing. Though Nerf has incorporated primitive ports onto some of their O-ring plunger heads, none of them offer all the benefits of this design. Here is a picture to illustrate:

Of course, you have to imagine a dart plugging up the right side of each plunger to understand the real benefits! Now let's learn how to make one.

The blaster is 90% complete, and the only thing missing is the secret technology. Yes, I am about to rock the community just as hard as when skirt seals showed up on the scene. It isn't something I personally invented, but you definitely won't find it in any Nerf forums--guaranteed! I'm excited to share it with the community, and I'm sure that people will find it both intriguing and useful. I won't give away any more details--soon y'all will see the light...

It is due time for an update! I've been enjoying life quite a bit, but it's time to start getting back into the swing of things. My first announcement is that I'm decommissioning my Supermaxx 1500. As a memory-refresher, here's what it looks like:

20,000 views! Woooooooooooo!

Hey guys,

I just wanted to take to take some time during my Nerf hiatus to say thank you to all my readers. 20,000 views is pretty amazing to me, considering I'm just one dude that started this blog a year and a half ago. In the beginning I really didn't expect much readership and I mainly did the blog for myself. I had some good ideas that I knew I would forget if I didn't write them down. It wasn't too much sweat off my balls to take some pictures as I did my normal modding, so I gave it a shot.

Looking back, I can't believe I started out with no pictures. LOL.....no wonder I had no viewership! A camera was definitely a crucial step in getting this blog off the ground. As my tool collection grew, the mods got crazier and crazier. At this point, I'm in too deep to even consider quitting--I have a box full of blasters just waiting to get their guts ripped out. I just got burnt out at the end of last year and needed a break. I plan on warring with my friends this year as well with my personal collection, since the northern California Nerf scene is about as alive as Genghis Khan.

In any case, I'll emerge whenever the hell I want. Deal with it.
